Board of Directors

Electroengine’s board of directors consists of seven members.

Per Bengtsson
Chairman and joint founder

Per has an M.Sc. in Technical Agronomy from the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU). For five years, he was Director for Technology Studies and headed an SLU research unit. Experience with several companies includes time as a founder and board member, as well as eight years as a CEO. He also has experience as an entrepreneur in technology, IT, food and real estate. As an investment manager, Per has been engaged in evaluating and investing in new start-ups. Since 2004, Per has been CEO of Uppsala Innovation Centre AB.

Thomas Bergfjord
Director, CEO and Joint founder

Thomas studied music at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm. He has previously worked as an entrepreneur in the building construction industry, where his interest focused on solutions. He has a profound understanding of electronics, systems and mechanics. Thomas is business operations are based. Thomas is currently divides his responsibilities between product development and running the company. Thomas is also a Director at Bergfjord Ek Byggnads AB.

Christer Wikner
Director and Joint Founder

B.Sc. Chemistry, Ph.D. in Biochemistry & Biophysics. Exec. MBA. Experience include positions in product management, marketing and business development at Amersham Biosciences and General Electric Co. As Director of Business Development responsibilities included Corporate Acquisitions and Strategic Growth Initiatives for a 10+ BSEK division within GE. Involved in several start-ups as founder including Electroengine in Sweden AB, Valueguard AB and ParkCell AB. Active within Uppsala Innovation Centre AB engaged in the support of new enterprises. Board experience from both listed and unlisted companies. Currently serves on the boards of several unlisted companies, as well as being a strategic advisor to the CEO of the IT company CIBER.

Arne Liljedahl
Director

After a degree in economics, Arne joined the financial sector. He started at Nordea in 1983, rising to become a member of Nordea’s executive management, holding the post of CEO many years. He retired from Nordea in 2008. He was also a member of Swedish Bankers’ Association between 2002 and 2008, of which he was Vice Chairman from 2005. Arne became Chairman of Carnegie Investment Bank AB in 2009 and, in 2010, also became Chairman of The Swedish Housing Finance Corporation (SBAB). He also sits on the board of the Lindorff Group.

Bengt Pende
Director

Trained as an economist, Bengt has several years experience in leading operative roles and on company boards, including positions as CFO and Senior Vice President at Olle Olsson Bolagen AB, one of Swedens’s large privately-owned vehicle importing businesses. Bengt has also held senior posts in real estate management, insurance and private equity. He also has experience in auditing, and during the early 1980s worked as an authorized public accountant. He has been engaged in real estate management and consulting though his own companies and now mainly works as an active partner in and board member of a number of small companies.

Alain Mestat
Director

B.A. in Political Science, M.A. in International Economics and Finance. Board member in Edmond de Rothschild Communication SA and International Bankers Club Luxembourg. Member of Swiss Bankers Committee and past President of Luxembourg Bankers Association Promotion . Alain is the current Director and Head of International Marketing, & Communication at Banque Privee Edmond de Rothschild Europe, Luxembourg. Prior to this engagement Alain held positions as Founder, Managing Director of Advena Management Inc, USA, and Marketing Manager, US Arab Chamber of Commerce, USA. He has also held positions as Analyst at Banque Paribas and Mitsubishi Bank, Ltd as well as a Financial Consultant to IBS/American Express.
