Electroengine helped Nimbus to launch the first electric yacht in 2009. Based on the standard Nova S model, the impressive 27ft Nimbus 27 E-Power features a zero emission True Electric® engine connected to a DPH drive from Volvo Penta. Performance is close to diesel-powered boats with a range up to 40 nautical miles at a cruising speed of 22 knots. Top speed is 27 knots and battery life is calculated at 3000 charges (more than 10 years of use). The True Electric® engine requires far less maintenance and the reduced fuel costs makes the cost of ownership attractive.
